Last night on the news I heard about a powerful Mexican drug cartel getting busted up...a lot of the major players either killed or arrested.

So during an interview with Mexican authorities, the Amercian journalist mentions that the drug trafficking and cartels are a big problem in Mexico.

The reply from the Mexican authority? It has to do with supply and demand. There is a great demand from US citizens for the narcotics. We Americans have a huge and insatiable appetite for them. Without the demand, there would be no need to supply.

Then today...I'm talking with a friend whose sister works for the DMV. She said that 9 out of every 10 customers she sees everyday have some sort of substance abuse violation on their records causing them problems when getting their license renewed or reinstated..

It may vary from state to state but here in Michigan..anyone who gets a traffic violation or accident where drugs/alcohol are involved, or any type of drug bust loses their license for a minimum of 6 months and has to pay huge fees of 1000. and up over a two year period.

9 out of 10 customers. Insatiable appetite. Demand for narcotics.

What is going to come of this country if we dont get our sh*t together soon?

I am so grateful to be a part of the solution today...not only for myself, but for every person who shows up here on their knees ready to become a part of the solution.

My deepest thanks to all who freely give their time here to help others as well as themselves.

Together, we help one another and work to find a way to quash this epidemic...one day at a a time, one addict at a time.

Spring... I saw that this morning. I thank GOD every day that I am not on the streets shooting dope.

I have to admit. I was bored and watched a little of the "The corner". Had to turn it off.

Now I am sitting here worried about the junkies downtown in the boarded up row houses... the corner had to be shut down for the last few days. We have 3+ feet of snow and are pretty much shut down. I am sure no one is slinging dope on the corners.

    Breaks my heart.
