Just a quick update here...all is well. Closing in on 11 months sober. Have managed to get back to doing a lot of things I did not have the ambition to do when I was on pills and/or drinking. I must say that this year has me back in the best shape that I have been physically in a good 15 years or more. Still hitting AA meetings as much as I can. That's all for now.

    All my best,

    Cat

Thanks Fox and Leafy...still chugging away here....full tilt ahead and now past 1 year Sober and doing well. I recently had to pass up 2 party invitations that I really would have like to gone to. Even though I am a year out now, I just knew that the situation at these events was going to be alcohol fueled insane atmosphere. I had not seen many of the people that were going to be there in a while....but just by association these people were always party maniacs along with me back in the day and I did not want to jeopardize what I have worked so hard for. I explained my situation to the party hosts for each event, and they said even though they were disappointed I would not be there, they respected my decision and understood where I was coming from. I have no issue being around a few people drinking, their choice.....but theses settings just seemed to be the Perfect Storm of old habits to tempt me, so better to miss 2 parties and still be doing well.

    All my best,

    Cat

Cat. I haven't been on here in long time till yesterday, saw your name and caught up. Wow, dude what a year eh? God on ya . When I was on here all the time your story was so gripping I read through it more than a few times. This is even better. Congrats. On Cats Epic Miracle lol. Take care. BTW how are the kids? Seems like you and your son took the rv a lot, races and rock shows maybe? Memory issues on my end but that rigs a bell. Cracked bell though. Great update thanks for the lift man.

Yo Chasin.....well this sure is a blast from the past. Hope all is well for you. Quite a bit has changed for me over the years since I started here. Got divorced, daughter is now a RN, son in in the Army, RV has been sold and I now live by the ocean. Mountain of changes, but life goes. I am doing thing now that had gone away years ago, some due to having a family, and quite a few that got left by the wayside due to pills and alcohol. It was fun to have many of those things return. Sitting here right now, eating breakfast, looking out over the water...enjoying life, on life's terms. All is good.

    All my best,

    Cat

Well I just logged back into this site for the heck of it. I see this thread started back in 2014. So in case anyone is reading any of this over.... I am now 6 years out from this and still sober and clean as can be and doing well.

If you want it....you can do it!

    All my best,

    Cat
