Beware of Offers for In-home Detox Help

It has been brought to my attention that several detox and recovery sites are experiencing an onslaught of predators offering to help addicts detox in their own homes. I don't have any more details than this at the moment but wanted to get a thread started to caution anyone who is approached by a stranger via a website with an offer to help you detox in your home.

Please be very cautious. Quite a few years ago we has such an incident unbeknownst to us at the time where someone was offering to detox people with Ibogaine. Unfortunately a few desperate addicts chose to take advantage of this offer only to discover their houses cleaned out while they were under the influence of 'something'. And a few more who sent this person money expecting to get their own self-help doses of Ibogaine mailed or brought to them. Needless to say, they never received anything.
In the first place, doing an Ibogaine detox alone is a very very bad idea, and we all know stories about the dangers of cyber-deals.

I'm not saying that there aren't some sincere, honest people who really want to help, just please use your common sense and do your research when it comes to offers like this.

I doubt that people would have to troll the internet in order to find addicts to help when there are struggling addicts on every street corner and in every NA room. Be Safe!
